Description:
Town of Chocowinity EMS runs primarily 911 emergency calls for Beaufort County, North Carolina and serves the town of Chocowinity and surrounding areas.
We also provide non-emergency interfacility transfers for our area hospitals and non-emergency medical transportation to the citizens of Beaufort County.
Paramedics provide life-saving emergency care to the acutely sick or injured at the scope of practice for North Carolina Paramedic and must be self-motivated to be able to maintain their skills and education to meet the demands of the constantly changing emergency medical field.

Recruitment Standards and Special Conditions:
Valid NCOEMS Paramedic Certification (1 year field experience preferred)
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
High School Diploma or GED
Current AHA ACLS Certification
Current AHA PALS Certification
Current AHA BLS Certification
Current NAEMT PHTLS Certification
EVD, EVOC, or equivalent or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
Must be able to pass a Technical Scope of Practice before the Beaufort County Medical Director
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Requires the ability to maintain body equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, balancing, crawling, walking, reaching and/or stretching arms, legs or other parts of body, and to physically maneuver, push, pull and lift over and/or upon varying terrain, surfaces or physical structures, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Lift and move up to 100 lbs unassisted.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain equipment and supplies in a constant state of readiness to include cleanliness and stock levels.
Maintain cleanliness of the station at all times
Document all procedures and care rendered accurately using computer software.
